A Toast To Tripod Dogs!

Wine-loving tripod parents everywhere can raise a glass in celebration of this unique vintage from Walla Walla, Washington. Three Legged Red was created by winemaker Eric Dunham as tribute to his beloved tripod dog, Port. Dunham discovered the Border Collie by chance when he was just a puppy. Port had been attacked by another dog and badly injured, necessitating the amputation of his front right leg. According to Dunham, "The puppy had lost a leg, but found a home. With only three legs, and two on the port side, I named him Port." At the winery in Walla Walla, Port was a regular presence, delighting visitors with his endearing personality. In May Port passed away at the ripe old age of 13, but Three Legged Red lives on. I haven't had the pleasure of sampling it yet, but by all accounts, it's a great table wine. Here's to Port and his fellow tripods on both sides of the Rainbow Bridge!

  2. As you can see here, we love Three Legged Red! It's good stuff, too good to be called ordinary table wine like Dunham calls it. Yummy! Here's to all Rebound Hounds and Tripawds everywhere!

  3. Hi Emmit and family! I'm so glad you paid a visit to my disabled dog blog! Life out here is wonderful (as I'm sure you know). We are having a grand time and even the winter weather isn't too bad. Everything is still so lush and green! If and when you all are ready for a dog, let me know. I love to play match-maker and set folks up with rescue pups :-)

  4. Hello there Jerry & Company! I have been a fan of www.tripawds.com ever since 3-legged Dewey entered our family in August. Even though Jerry has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, he continues to touch many lives and his spirit is alive and well in the wonderful advocacy work that you do. When we get a chance to try Three Legged Red we will definitely raise a glass to Jerry.
